 My children have loved attending school in Clarksburg.  My eldest son, Dini, graduated from Clarksburg High School last year, and is now attending Boston University.  My second boy, Alex, is a senior at Clarksburg High and will be heading off to college next year.  My youngest, Efi, attends Rocky Hill Middle School, and will begin her freshman year at Clarksburg High next fall.  

They grow up so fast! 

We’ve enjoyed many of the school activities over the years.  Both boys played jv baseball and were on the varsity football team.  My daughter, Efi, is active in the Chamber Singers and the school plays.  …And I’ve been a part of the PTSA for years.

Currently, there is one home for sale in Catawba Manor.  It is a four-bedroom detached property located at 13213 Catawba Manor Way, and is offered at $439,900.

Two homes are now under contact.  The home at 8 Catawba Manor Court was priced at $439,000 and is now under a contingent contract.  ...And 13208 Catawba Manor Way, which was listed for $450,000 is awaiting settlement.

The most recently sold home in the neighborhood is a detached four-bedroom property with a stone front located at 13214 Catawba Manor Way.  It was on the market for $425,000 and sold for $408,000.

Clarksburg Community Association Meets

The CCA will meet on April 26 at the Hyattstown Fire Department.

The event will kick off at 6:30 pm with the fire department hosting a behind-the-scenes station tour, and activities for families and kids.

Later, at 7:00 p.m., the CCA will meet to discuss proposed staffing changes at the Hyattstown Fire Department, as well as emergency medical services, updates on development in Clarksburg, and other business.

Here's summary information on the real estate market in Clarksburg, Maryland.

A total of $10.9 million worth of homes houses and condos sold last month in zip 20871, which is an increase of 32.28 percent compared to March of last year.

The median price of the homes that sold dropped 12.81 percent during that time, the number of homes sold increased by 56.25 percent, and the time they sat on the market decreased by 47.93 percent.

Are you noticing a pattern here?  ...More homes selling faster, but at a lower price than last year.

The 2010 Kites Over Clarksburg Festival will be held this Saturday, March 27 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Ovid Hazen Wells Park on Skylark Road.

The event is free of charge, and participants are asked to bring a donation of canned food to support local food banks.

There will be kite-flying demonstrations, craft activities, games, and a raffle with prizes.  There will also be exhibits of companies and organizations that serve Clarksburg at the event.

Here's an update on real estate sales in the Woodcrest neighborhood of Clarksburg, Maryland.

There are currently four homes for sale, all located on Bennett Chase, and priced from $569,900 to $579,990.

Three homes in Woodcrest are now under contract, but have not yet closed.  The three are on Bennett Chase and were priced from $518,660 to $589,460.  The actual selling prices of these homes will be available as soon as they go to settlement.

During 2009 a total of 13 homes sold in Woodcrest.  The lowest price was for a townhouse on Dutrow that sold for $380,504, and the highest priced sale was a detached home on Bennett Chase that sold for $604,900.

A total of $6.4 million worth of homes sold in Clarksburg Maryland last month, which is an increase of 33.18 percent over February of 2009.

The median sold price was 15.76 percent lower than last year, but the number of homes that sold doubled.  Additionally, the average days on the market declined by 68.24 percent.

This represents a continuation of the trend we've been recently -- an increase in the number of homes selling, but at a lower price.
