The event is set for Saturday, October 9 at 8:00 a.m. as a fundraiser for our cluster schools PTAs.  All proceeds will be used to fund programs and events for the students.

Milestone HOA Meeting

Milestone HOA Meeting 

The Corridor Cities Transitway (CCT) will be the subject of a presentation during the next Milestone HOA meeting, scheduled for September 7 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gibbs Elementary School media center. 

The CCT is a 14-mile transit corridor established in the Montgomery County master plan decades ago.  The right of way runs from the Shady Grove Metro Station in Rockville, through Gaithersburg and Germantown, and ends just south of Clarksburg. Some of the transit options under study include bus, light rail transit, and premium bus service.

 

Clarksburg Civic Association County Council Forum

The Clarksburg Civic Association (CCA) and the Greater Goshen Civic Association are hosting a County Council Candidates Forum.  All Clarksburg MD, Goshen and Laytonville residents are invited to attend.  All candidates who will be on the ballot will be there to answer your questions.  The event will be held on Tuesday August 24th at 7pm at the Church of the Nazerene (8921 Warfield Road).

During July a total of $6,019,883 worth of homes sold in Clarksburg, compared to $5,870,900 in July of last year.  That’s a small increase, but it’s on the right track. 

The median price of homes that sold in July was up 12.75 percent, and the average days on the market for homes that sold was down to 27 days, compared to 76 days last year. 

Given all the chatter about the distressed state of the economy, this is pleasant news.

Detached Home Sales in Clarksburg, Maryland 20871 

Here’s an update on detached home listings, contracts, and sales in Clarksburg.  Condos and townhomes were covered in posts last week. 

Currently, there are 57 detached homes for sale in zip code 20871, starting in price from $74,900 for a shell on Frederick Road to $1.3 million for a colonial-style home on Prices Distillery Road.  That’s a huge variation in prices, with the average being $570,962. 

There are now 32 detached homes under contract.  These include a rambler on Clarksburg Road that was listed for $250,000 up to $1.1 million for a six-bedroom home on Tregoning Place. 

Thus far this year, 79 detached homes have sold in Clarksburg, ranging in price from $195,000 to $800,000.

Following is an update on listings and sales of townhouses in Clarksburg, Maryland 20871.  (FYI: These do not include condominium townhouses, which were covered in a previous post.) 

There are 21 townhouses now listed for sale in Clarksburg, starting in price from $307,990 on Forest Haven Way, up to $498,000 on Trentworthy Way. 

Twelve homes are currently under contract.  These include a unit that was listed at $149,900 up to $380,000 for a four-bedroom brick-front townhouse on Sugarloaf Chapel Drive.

 Thus far this year, 44 townhomes have sold in Clarksburg, ranging in price from $277,990 to $519,900.

Update on Adventist HealthCare’s Proposed Clarksburg Community Hospital 

Adventist HealthCare’s plan to build the $177 million Clarksburg Community Hospital received an additional boost this week, when former State Senator Patrick Hogan urged support of the proposal. 

The planned 86-bed hospital would serve upper Montgomery County and lower Frederick County and would also include doctors’ offices, a child-care center, a primary care clinic for the uninsured, and a nursing center for seniors.

 It awaits approval from the Maryland Health Care Commission.

Here’s summary information on recent listings and sales of condos in Clarksburg, Maryland 20871. 

There are eleven condos listed for sale now, ranging in price from $199,000 for a three-bedroom unit on Clarksburg Square Road, to $355,990 for a three-bedroom on Scholl Manor Way.
